NJCYB SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Every child deserves a chance to dance.
Help Hackettstown and surrounding area dancers perform in The Nutcracker—regardless of financial circumstances.

Why This Matters

The Nutcracker is magical—but fees can keep kids off the stage. Your gift removes barriers like audition and membership fees, volunteer deposits, ticket minimums, raffle books, and playbill ads (not optional items like costumes or photos).

 

Your Impact (Pilot Year: 2025)

$480 funds one full award for a dancer
$200 funds one partial award
Any amount brings a child closer to the stage.

 

Who You Help

Local dancers from Hackettstown and surrounding communities who qualify for need-based assistance and dream of performing in a professionally staged production.

Where Your Gift Goes

Your donation allows a child to participate in a professionally staged ballet with NJCYB. This experience includes:

  • Weekly rehearsals from September through December (Fridays & Saturdays)

  • Hours of dance education guided by experienced teachers and mentors

  • A chance to dance among professionals on stage

  • The opportunity to live a dream and perform in The Nutcracker

The 2025 Nutcracker will be performed December 19th–21st.

100% of scholarship dollars go toward required participation costs:

  • Audition & membership fees

  • Volunteer deposits

  • Ticket minimums

  • Raffle book minimums

  • Playbill ads

(Excludes optional expenses such as photos, or merchandise.)

Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes. NJCYB is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit; you’ll receive a receipt for your records.

What exactly does the award cover?
Required program fees only (see list above). Optional items are not included.

How are dancers selected?
Awards are need-based, using a simple application reviewed confidentially by NJCYB President and Treasurer.

Can I dedicate my gift or give in honor of someone?
